My last posting was about the wonderful privelege we had to attend and participate in the ordination of our son. We have prayed for him for years and watched as God has continually had His hand upon Albert's life. He is a blessing to us and we are so proud of him.
From Kansas my husband headed back home and I moved on to Iowa to await the birth of our 5th grandchild, 4th grandson. Most already know about the arrival of Josiah Caleb Lee born January 29th. Granma was there to see his arrival and to hear his first breath of air. What a wondrous blessing to see new life. What a miracle.
While I was there we heard news of my brother's heart attack, coma, and then swift entrance into the presence of our Lord. I flew from Iowa to Houston and immediately to Portland, Oregon for the memorial service. My husband traveled with me from Houston and we were joined in Oregon by my dad, brother Gary, and our son Albert.
In our grief we recall the memories of John, and sorrow in our loss, but glory in the fact that John is now in the presence of God rejoicing and glorifing the Father. Also we KNOW that we will join him in eternity to celebrate life with God forever. For more detail see Laura's blog as she included the obituary and a poem my brother Gary wrote. My studies this year have been centered on the subject of prayer. I have needed the presence of the Lord in my life during this busy time. Blessing, joys and sorrows often encompass the life of a believer. God gives grace in time of need. He answers prayer and gives strength to meet every need of every day. I don't know how people who do not have a personal relationship with the one and only God of this world survive. I need God's presence in my life every minute of every day. I know I cannot handle the events of my life without His guidance, wisdom, and strength. I ask you to pray for our family.
The joy of life seeing our son ordained; the joy of seeing a new born baby, (not just any baby but our grandchild); the sustaining grace as we sorrow at the loss of a dearly loved brother. Thank you all for your prayer for us and for the prayer for our family.
Continue to pray for us:
- Pray as my husband Pastors Berean Baptist Church in Humble
- Pray we will all remain faithful to the Lord every minute of every day
- Souls to be saved as the end of this old world is quickly coming
- Praise for a new grandchild
- Praise for the ordination of Albert IV
- Praise for our children serving God in Brazil (Taylor's)
- Family needs:
- Logan Newell pray as the Doctor deal with his brain stem cancer. Chemo will begin shortly. 28 months old. Our great nephew.
- Ben Newell - Logans' Daddy awaiting a new heart transplant and his wife Meaghan, and baby sister Emma 1 year old.
- Ethel Newell recovering from intestinal surgery and the loss of her husband John. And my dad Les Newell pictured here with Ethel as he ministers to the health needs of my step-mother Betty.
Let's each lift one another up in prayer without ceasing. - I Timothy 2:8 "I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath or doubting"
